There appears to be a transfer race to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur this summer. Real Madrid are believed to have made him their number one target to replace Karim Benzema, with the Frenchman bringing an end to his legendary run at the Santiago Bernabeu. Los Blancos are not the only ones after the England national team captain though.

Manchester United are believed to be very keen on Kane as well. In fact, he is rumoured to be Erik ten Hag’s number top target for the summer, as he looks to strengthen the club’s forward line.

It will be difficult for Manchester United to sign Kane though, especially since they are a direct domestic rival of Tottenham Hotspur. As a result, they appear to be looking out for alternative targets as well.

As reported by the Mirror, Manchester United are stepping up their interest in Rasmus Hojlund. With Tottenham Hotspur unwilling to let Kane join a Premier League rival, the Atalanta striker is quickly emerging as a leading candidate for the Red Devils and is available for around £40 million.

Someone like Kane would be an excellent signing for Real Madrid. But they will have to shell out a huge transfer fee to make a deal happen.

At the end of the day, Kane is one of the best strikers in the world, coming off of a 30-goal Premier League campaign and he is in the middle of his prime. Thus, Tottenham Hotspur looking for a €100 million transfer fee is not unreasonable in the current state of the game.

With a blockbuster move for Jude Bellingham near as well, it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid are willing to make another signing of that magnitude. With Benzema gone, they will need a world-class striker to lead the line though.
